A family member was reading Clive Barker's mini-bio inside the back cover of my The Hellbound Heart book.
She noticed it said something like "He and his lover live..." and immediately asked me if he was gay.
I said I didn't know, but there's a big rumor over at one of the threads at IMDb.
She assumed that he was...
Although I persistently said that it's just a rumor, she didn't let it go.
She then proceeded to ask me if I was going to continue to buy any of his stuff (while looking at the Bethany Bled insert I had left on the coffee table).
"It's just wrong," she said. I assumed she was talking about both the rumor and my collecting the TS, Hellraiser and Infernal Parade figures.
I don't care if Clive is or isn't... but this entire situation just pissed me off.

hahah demon's right, it's true about Clive.
I read an interview with him about the Undying PC game and he said something like "When I right a (male) lead character, it's important that he'd be someone I'd sleep with. As a gay man I..." yadda yadda... basically he came out and said it.
And yeah nor should that all matter when it comes to his work either. Not worth getting hung up about especially if it means denying yourself a good read. Course I'd probably be against reading something if it was OJ writing a book about stabbing, I dunno.
PS- The Undying game is both good and dirt cheap, I recommend it.
